Mission:

PDC develops, provides, and supports, state-of-the-art solutions that ensure our customer's business processes are performed efficiently, effectively, reliably, and to a degree that meets their unique needs.

History:

PDC is a Texas Corporation that was founded in October 1986 by the partners currently running the business: Jeremiah P. O'Brien (President - Dallas-Fort Worth Headquarters), and Paul J. Nix (Vice-President - Houston Regional Office). From its inception to the present time, PDC's primary business has been business process improvement, with an emphasis on workflows related to environmental, health and safety (EH&S) compliance. The focus of PDC's client group has traditionally been industrial facilities and operations, such as: chemicals manufacturing, oil refining, tire and rubber production, semi-conductor and electronics manufacturing, mining, aerospace, and "upstream" oil and gas development. PDC is a registered Professional Engineering firm in Texas.

After completing a landmark project for the Texas Chemical Council (TCC) in the early 1990's, PDC became a major supplier of air pollution reporting software that featured electronic reporting to the Texas regulatory agency. During the mid-1990's, several of PDC's clients formed an industry consortium whose primary mission was to re-engineer the PDC's DOS-based software which was widely used at that time using Windows technology and "open architecture" database standards. The founding members of this consortium were:

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Chevron Oil Company
Exxon Chemical Company E.I. DuPont
Alcoa Mobil Chemical Company

By the late 1990's, PDC was providing both software and consulting engineering services across a broad range of EH&S compliance areas (e.g., air, hazardous waste, wastewater, etc.). Operations in a new regional office located in Houston were commenced during this time frame. In addition, PDC's services for existing clients expanded to enterprise-wide installations and support, and in some cases, a central database was used for multiple facilities (e.g., ExxonMobil, Solutia, etc.).

In 2000, PDC added a Regulatory Management of Change (RMOC) subscription service, under which subscribers receive quarterly updates to the regulatory text and citation numbering of their applicable rules, along with a database update that is automatically processed by PDC software. This service currently encompasses more than 50,000 state and federal regulations, and is used by facilities located in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, South and North Carolina, Virginia, and Texas.

By 2005, PDC had added web technology to several of its product lines and, in 2008, work commenced work on a new application portal based entirely on Microsoft ASP.NET Framework 3.5 and SQL Server. The first production release of the CCIRS-Planner module, PDC's first ASP.NET module, was distributed on January 1, 2010.

Current field of business

PDC currently furnishes workflow management software and "turn-key" deployment services in the field of business process improvement.
